S oixante ans après la disparition de Le Corbusier, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin demeure le fil bleu de sa vie : la Méditerranée y aiguise à la fois l’œil et la pensée de l’architecte et le peintre, entre expérimentation radicale et villégiature avec son épouse Yvonne, native de Monaco.

Exquisite Riviera Merveilleuse Riviera S ixty years after the passing of Le Corbusier , Roquebrune-Cap-Martin continues to be a defining part of his life. The Mediterranean region here nurtured both his architectural and artistic perspectives, blending bold experimentation with leisure time spent with his wife, Yvonne, a native of Monaco.

E-1027, a modernist vessel In the late 1930s, Le Corbusier and Yvonne visited Villa E-1027 at the invitation of architect Jean Badovici. This villa, designed with his friend Eileen Gray, is perched on stilts and covers about 130 m². An icon of modernist architecture on the Mediterranean coast, it features several murals created by Le Corbusier. The friends experienced life in harmony with nature, facing the Plage de Buse on Cap-Martin with the Principality as a scenic backdrop. Could it be that here, in 1951, Le Corbusier envisioned an (unrealised) project to build a Pepsi-Cola factory for Monaco?

E-1027, un bateau moderniste Invité de la villa E-1027 de l’architecte Jean Badovici pensée avec la complicité de son amie Eileen Gray, Le Corbusier, accompagné d’Yvonne, y séjourne à la fin des années 1930. Dans ce «bateau» sur pilotis de quelque 130m 2 , témoin de l’architecture moderniste au bord de la Méditerranée, il réalise plusieurs peintures murales. Là, les amis vivent au rythme de la nature, face à la plage de Buse du Cap-Martin, avec la Principauté en toile de fond. Est-ce ici que Le Corbusier a imaginé, en 1951, un projet (non réalisé) d’usine de Pepsi-Cola pour Monaco ?
