La Rascasse THE BAR TAKES A NEW DIRECTION
New Life Nouvelle vie
L a Rascasse underwent its transformation this winter and is being unveiled at the start of this spring. A bar dedicated to sport and celebration, the most famous establishment of Port Hercule, located in the most renowned bend of the Monaco Grand Prix, will pulsate to the rhythm of the finest sporting events. After three months of transformation, La Rascasse is reinventing itself. Situated at the heart of the most famous bend of the Monaco Grand Prix, the venue is becoming a chic, relaxed, and vibrant sports bar, where patrons can watch a motor race or a match, extend their aperitif, celebrate a victory, or simply bask in the unique thrill Monaco offers. Defining the bar in the spirit of Monte Carlo while maintaining its lively and nocturnal energy, the 2026 version of La Rascasse draws inspiration from Formula 1 and motorsport. To bring this new vision to life, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer enlisted the local company Iconic Design, who daringly reinterprets racing symbols: auto parts on the ceiling, a deconstructed engine in suspension, a checkered floor… The scenography uses warm tones to create an inviting and friendly atmosphere, designed to evolve throughout the evening—from relaxed after-work hours to a more festive mood as night falls. Off the menu, cocktails and finger food are meant to be shared like one last round. A legendary venue on Monaco’s port, La Rascasse is preparing to change its rhythm without losing its essence. The establishment is transforming into a new-generation elegant sports bar, combining a more contemporary and sophisticated style while preserving the spontaneous conviviality that has cemented its reputation. Closed since 5 January, La Rascasse is set to reopen at full pace in mid-April. F1 in lounge version The bar and adjoining spaces are highlighted, while the lighting creates an almost cinematic atmosphere, reminiscent of a Grands Prix start in a lounge setting. The aim is also functional: to prioritise capacity and ease of movement, particularly by limiting seating on the ground floor to improve flow and give the space room to breathe. On the first floor, the ambiance shifts: quieter, cosier, designed for pre-dinner drinks, groups, and the events that mark the year. The terrace has also been redesigned to better manage incoming crowds without encroaching on the road . ■
