La créatrice de bijoux Maria Battaglia a lancé sa propre ligne en octobre 2023 et elle est déjà repérée par la presse spécialisée. « Ma collection est une ode à la Corse » , explique la jeune insulaire. Maria Battaglia appartient à la neuvième génération d’une famille qui a toujours puisé dans la nature généreuse de l’île la source de sa subsistance. Elle a ainsi inventé des bagues « oursins » (de 1 700 à 2 950 €) qu’elle porte juxtaposées au doigt, des mono-boucles d’oreilles « altore » (2 450 €), du nom du plus grand aigle qui fait de l’île son sanctuaire ou encore un collier avec l’œil de Sainte-Lucie pour chasser le mauvais œil (1 300 €). La créatrice conçoit ses bijoux comme des talismans dont la force symbolique prend racine au cœur du maquis et sur le littoral, là où nature se révèle avec une authenticité toute puissante.

Jewellery designer Maria Battaglia launched her own line in October 2023 and has already caught the attention of the specialist press. ‘ My collection is an ode to Corsica, ” explains the young islander. Maria Battaglia belongs to the ninth generation of a family that has always drawn its livelihood from the island’s generous nature. She has thus created “ oursins ” rings (from 1,700 to 2,950 €) which she wears stacked on the f inger, “ altore ” single earrings (2,450 €), named after the largest eagle that makes the island its sanctuary, and a necklace with the Eye of Saint Lucy to ward off the evil eye (1,300 €). The designer conceives her jewellery as talismans whose symbolic power is rooted in the heart of the maquis and along the coastline, where nature reveals itself with powerful authenticity.

TOTI, FOR THE LOVE OF EQUESTRIAN SPORT

The jewellery line was born from a rider’s love for a horse. Edwina Tops-Alexander explains her beautiful story: “A horse unexpectedly entered my life, and our bond gave each of us the strength, confidence and conviction we needed. Each piece in this collection is my tribute to Toti.” With its horseshoes and stirrups in gold and diamonds, while the inspiration may be familiar, it is interpreted with great elegance. (…) Toti a surmonté un accident qui a changé sa vie et est devenu l’un des chevaux de saut d’obstacles les plus performants au monde. (…) Ses qualités magiques et son esprit guerrier m’ont inspiré à créer la collection de bijoux fins Toti et une Fondation qui aide les enfants et les adultes handicapés grâce au pouvoir de la thérapie équine. Chaque pièce de cette collection est mon hommage à Toti (…). » Avec ses fers à cheval et ses étriers en or et brillants, l’inspiration est certes connue mais se décline avec beaucoup d’élégance.

Like all Edwina Tops-Alexander jewellery, the creole earrings, here in white gold and diamonds, are a tribute to the designer’s Toti horse. Comme tous les bijoux d’Edwina Tops-Alexander, les boucles d’oreilles créoles, ici en or blanc et diamant, sont un hommage au cheval Toti de la créatrice.
