J ust a few weeks after the ticket office opened, the centre court was nearly sold out. This speaks volumes about spectators’ enthusiasm for this historic tournament, the first Masters 1000 of the European clay-court season, won in 2025 by Carlos Alcaraz, who is currently ranked world number one. The entire men’s tennis elite is expected on the courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club, which hopes to welcome more than 150,000 spectators. On the sidelines of the stands, the village is designed as a hub with four screens, a larger bar, a new relaxation area with sun loungers and a giant screen, and a zone reserved for children. The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort is the official venue where players and partners stay. As in 2025, the Monte-Carlo Beach is privatised to become the “Players’ Village”. After long travels and demanding matches in March and April for the Indian Wells and Miami tournaments, players arrive here in a privileged setting. Private beach, restaurant, deck, kids’ club, and small buggies to go directly to the Monte-Carlo Country Club changing rooms… Discreet luxury for tennis players who stay with their families in a protected environment. ■ VACHEROT, A SOURCE OF NATIONAL PRIDE, OFFERS HOPE This year, all eyes are on Valentin Vacherot, the son of the Monte-Carlo Country Club. After a victory over world number five Novak Djokovic at the 2025 Rolex Shanghai Masters, followed by a win against his cousin Arthur Rinderknech, he became the first Monegasque player to claim a singles title on the ATP tour in the Open era. “ For Monaco, this is absolutely extraordinary, and we have never had a player born in the Principality in the Top 100 singles rankings, ” emphasises Mélanie Antoinette de Massy. Vacherot has shown remarkable mental maturity, physical fitness, and impressive agility. He has few points to defend at the start of the season and plenty of room for improvement. He is part of a particularly successful national team alongside Romain Arneodo, who won the doubles tournament in 2025, and Hugo Nys, who secured the doubles title at the Rome Masters the same year, demonstrating the resilience of Monegasque tennis on the international circuit. C’est dire l’engouement des spectateurs pour ce tournoi historique, premier Masters 1000 de la saison européenne sur terre battue, remporté en 2025 par Carlos Alcaraz, actuellement numéro 1 mondial. Toute l’élite du tennis mondial masculin est attendue sur les courts du Monte-Carlo Country Club qui espère accueillir plus de 150 000 spectateurs. En marge des tribunes, le village est pensé comme un hub avec quatre écrans, un bar agrandi, un nouvel espace détente avec chaises longues et écrans géants et une zone réservée aux enfants. Le Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort est le lieu officiel où séjournent les joueurs et partenaires. Comme en 2025, le Monte-Carlo Beach est privatisé pour devenir le Players’ Village .
