T he Grimaldi Forum Monaco is celebrating one of the Principality’s finest stories: its unique bond with the automobile. Designed as a journey through elegance, innovation and sporting achievement, the exhibition brings together 48 historic models, including 20 that have won either the Grand Prix or the Monte-Carlo Rally. A spectacular deep dive into a world where engineering meets prestige. Exceptional cars, between memory and glamour Curated by art historian and heritage curator Rodolphe Rapetti, the exhibition showcases vehicles with an intrinsic link to Monaco, from the very early days of motoring to the icons of Formula 1. Highlights include the Panhard & Levassor type P2D, in which Hippolyte Panhard arrived in the Principality as early as 1893, and the Venturi Rover FLEX developed by Gildo Pallanca Pastor to travel on the Moon – a nod to Monaco’s pioneering spirit. The exhibition trail also recalls how early on Monaco embraced the automobile, from concours d’élégance and princely glamour to the great moments of motor sport. The Rolls‑Royce used for the wedding of Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly, a Delahaye crowned at the 1912 concours d’élégance, and the legendary Bugatti 35 C Grand Prix car and Ayrton Senna’s McLaren MP4/8 together weave a narrative that is as refined as it is thrilling. This heritage fresco is complemented by a tribute to Louis Chiron and to the contemporary standard bearer Charles Leclerc. Through archival films, an immersive room, and a virtual driving simulator, the exhibition invites visitors to experience Monaco as a land of style, speed, and legend. ■

L e Grimaldi Forum Monaco célèbre l’une des plus belles histoires de la Principauté : celle qui l’unit à l’automobile. Pensée comme un voyage entre élégance, innovation et exploits sportifs, l’exposition rassemble 48 modèles historiques, dont 20 ont remporté le Grand Prix ou le Rallye Monte-Carlo. Une plongée spectaculaire dans un imaginaire où la mécanique rejoint le prestige. Des voitures d’exception, entre mémoire et glamour Conçue par l’historien d’art et conservateur Rodolphe Rapetti, l’exposition met en scène des véhicules entièrement liés à Monaco, depuis les débuts de l’automobile jusqu’aux icônes de la Formule 1. Parmi les pièces marquantes figure la Panhard & Levassor type P2D, avec laquelle Hippolyte Panhard arriva en Principauté dès 1893, mais aussi le Rover FLEX de Venturi de Gildo Pallanca Pastor, imaginé pour voyager sur la Lune, clin d’œil à l’esprit d’innovation monégasque. Le parcours rappelle aussi combien Monaco a très tôt épousé l’automobile, entre concours d’élégance, glamour princier et grandes heures du sport mécanique. La Rolls-Royce du mariage du prince Rainier et de Grace Kelly, une Delahaye couronnée au concours d’élégance de 1912 ou encore les mythiques Bugatti 35 C Grand Prix et McLaren MP4/8 d’Ayrton Senna composent un récit aussi raffiné que vibrant. À cette fresque patrimoniale s’ajoute un hommage à Louis Chiron et à la relève contemporaine incarnée par Charles Leclerc. Entre films d’archives, salle immersive et poste de pilotage virtuel, l’exposition invite à ressentir Monaco comme une terre de style, de vitesse et de légende. ■
