Victor Brauner, The Magical Adventure This exhibition explores the work of the Surrealist artist from the 1920s to the 1950s through paintings, sculptures, and drawings. Born in Romania and active among the avant-garde figures of Bucharest, Victor Brauner (1903–1966) later joined the Surrealist group in Paris before breaking away from it. In his fantastical universe, inspired by esotericism and non-Western cultures, the human figure encounters animals or stretches to impossible lengths. The works on display originate from a private collection in Monaco and are being shown to the public for the first time.
