CATS ON THE OPÉRA STAGE The Cats phenomenon and its thunderous horde of cats are coming to the Opéra de Monte-Carlo. So here we are on that famous night of the Jellicle Ball, when only one of these felines will be reborn in paradise. There, in the moonlight, among the contrasting characters, we meet the endearing Grizabella, a lonely, elderly cat who has fallen on hard times. The show offers a brand-new opening section but knows how to bring to life the mythical creatures inspired by T.S. Eliot’s children’s poems and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s original score, directed here by Trevor Nunn. Opéra de Monte-Carlo. From 14 th to 31 st December. Tickets from €60 CATS SUR LA SCÈNE DE L’OPÉRA Le phénomène Cats et sa horde tonitruante de chats débarquent à l’Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Nous voilà en cette fameuse nuit du « Jellicle Ball » où un seul de ces félins pourra renaître au paradis. Là, à la lumière de la Lune, parmi les caractères contrastés, on rencontre l’attachante Grizabella, une chatte solitaire et âgée tombée bien bas. Le show propose une toute nouvelle section d’ouverture mais sait faire bondir les créatures mythiques portées par les poèmes pour enfant de T.S. Eliot et la partition originale d’Andrew Lloyd Webber, mis en scène ici par Trevor Nunn.
