MA BAYADÈRE REIMAGINED BY JEAN-CHRISTOPHE MAILLOT Since La Mégère apprivoisée , a choreographic play revived for the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow in 2014, Jean-Christophe Maillot had not offered his reinterpretation of a work from the Grand Répertoire classique. With Ma Bayadère, the director and choreographer of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo returns to this exercise and revisits Marius Petipa’s ballet, which was first performed in 1877 at the Bolshoi Kamenny Theatre in Saint Petersburg. The Monegasque audience will therefore be the first to see this rewritten version of the romantic ballet, which draws inspiration from the choreographer’s history and that of his dance company. Avec Ma Bayadère, le directeur-chorégraphe des Ballets de Monte-Carlo renoue avec cet exercice et revisite le ballet de Marius Petipa présenté pour la toute première fois en 1877 au Théâtre du Bolchoï Kamenny de Saint-Péterbourg. Le public monégasque découvrira donc, en création mondiale, la version réécrite du ballet romantique inspirée de l’histoire

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, THE NEW MUSICAL In the spirit of great West End and Broadway productions, thirty artists bring Roald Dahl’s wonderful story to life on stage. It’s the adventure of young Charlie, who finds a golden ticket in his chocolate bar, the key to visiting Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory. The show features the famous songs from the 1971 film directed by Mel Stuart with new pieces by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. The stage at the Salle des Princes in the Grimaldi Forum transforms into a giant chocolate factory where theatrical sets and modern illusions merge for the most delightful show.
